is a non profit organization founded by a retired Air Force seargant and his family. He also is an AT&T employee in the area here in IL. He and his son were eating pizza prior to last fourth of July and his son asked if they had pizza in the Middle East. After explaining that the soldiers did get plenty of other food, but not pizza, they baked up a plan to deliver pizza to the troops. Following is an excerpt of a story from last year:
Forget the 300 Lou Malnati's pizzas that the Air Force veteran wanted to send to U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan for a Fourth of July event.
Try 3,000.
After a Daily Herald story about the "Pizzas 4 Patriots" idea he hatched with his 16-year-old son Kent, Evans has received an outpouring of interest from people who want to help.
Soldiers will get a taste of Chicago As of Tuesday, he was on track to send 3,000 of his favorite Chicago-style pizzas to the Middle East.
This year their goal is 25,000 Pizzas. But they need our help. $10 will feed pizza to two soldiers. Donations can be made at their website via a paypal link OR you can mail checks to their P.o. box.
Please help if you can.
